Cyproheptadione hydrochloride. Cyproheptadine 4mg
Cyproheptadione it’s a drug which is used for stimulating the appetite of an individual, which means that this drug is designed for weight gain. Cyproheptadione is also known as Ciplacitin. This drug is coming in syrup format and it is also stopping some hormonal secretion from the human body.
Cyproheptadione hydrochloride is blocking the histamine receptors and it is also preventing the development of allergic reaction. Also, in just a few days of treatment, the appetite of the patient will grow considerable and he will eat multiple times per day, gaining weight.
This syrup is used for treating multiple digestive affections such as: hay fever, serum sickness, migraine, insect bites, angioedema, pruritus eczema, etc. Also, this treatment is request careful attention when is administered to elder persons and kids. The dosage should be offered by doctors only, and it should never be taken without medical advice.
Mode of administration and recommendation usage:
Cyproheptadione hcl is syrup, which means that the storage conditions should be respected. This syrup should be kept in a dry place, at a normal temperature and away from kids. There are also rare side effects like hallucinations, confusion, agitation, skin rash, etc. These side effects are emerging after an overdose or a combination of multiple drugs.
The Central Nervous System can be affected if Cyproheptadione 4mg is combined with sleeping pills, caffeine and sedatives. Also, this syrup should not be taken with alcohol.
