sodium chondroitin sulfate, glucosamine hydrochloride;
Chondroprotective properties of the Arthron (R) Complex are provided by the synergistic effect of its active ingredients: glucosamine hydrochloride and chondroitin sulfate, which are substrates of construction of the articular cartilage. In the event of any adverse effects on cartilaginous tissue (age-associated metabolic disorders, traumatization, diseases), their synthesis is reduced, because of which the functional state of the joints is compromised and the pain appears. Chondroitin sulfate is a high molecular weight mucopolysaccharide that is normally secreted by chondrocytes in the needed quantity into the extracellular matrix of articular cartilage. It does not let the connective tissue shrink as an astringent and highly hydrophilic polyanion and plays the role of oil for articular surface. When the concentration of chondroitin in the synovial fluid is reduced, the mobility of the affected joints deteriorates. Clinical trials have proved that administration of the exogenous chondroitin counteracts the progress of osteoarthrosis formation and makes frequency of its exacerbations lower. Due to competitive inhibition of proteolytic enzymes, the drug prevents the destructive changes in cartilage and bone tissues and reduces the loss of calcium. In experimental damage to the articular cartilage it stimulates its regeneration. An additional mechanism of action of chondroitin due to its antithrombotic properties is improvement of blood circulation in the periarticular microvessels. Glucosamine is a part of endogenous glycosaminoglycans of cartilaginous tissue. In case of systematic use it stimulates the synthesis of proteoglycans and collagen therefore counteracting the progress of degenerative processes formation. It normalizes mobility and reduces pain in the affected joints. It prevents possible metabolic cartilage damage from the action of nonhormonal anti-inflammatory drugs and corticohormons. In addition, having the ability to absorb free radicals, it displays a mild anti-inflammatory action of its own, not associated with prostaglandins metabolism.
Arthron Complex Indications for use:
Arthron Complex is used in degenerative-dystrophic spine and peripheral joints diseases (osteochondrosis, osteoarthrosis, spondylarthrosis, etc.). In case of osteopathy and chondropathy, parodontopathy, chondromalacia; For the treatment and prevention of joint damage due to physical overstrain (including sports injuries); During the recovery period after bone fractures to accelerate the formation of callus, surgeries on the musculoskeletal system, injuries, etc. .; For the joint pain as an adjunct.
Arthron Complex How to use:
Arthron® Complex is taken orally with water. It is recommended for adults to take 1-3 tablets per day. The minimum duration of treatment is 6 weeks. Within 2-3 months the maximum clinical effect of treatment is observed. The clinical effect is slow, but persists for a long time after discontinuation of the drug. It is recommended to start treatment with a high dose (3 tablets), gradually moving to a maintenance dose. Individual course duration and frequency of administration are determined by a physician.
Arthron Complex Side effects:
The drug is usually well tolerated. In case of increased individual sensitivity disturbances of the gastrointestinal tract function are possible (abdominal pain, flatulence, nausea), moderate manifestations of allergic reactions (itching, skin rash, urticaria, etc.), which disappear after discontinuation of the drug.
Arthron Complex Contraindications:
Arthron® Complex is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to drug components, in case of renal insufficiency at the decompensation stage.
Arthron Complex in Pregnancy:
Clinical data are not available. The drug is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.
Drug interactions: in case of simultaneous use glucosamine reduces the absorption of penicillin and chloramphenicol in the gastrointestinal tract and enhances the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics. In case of simultaneous use with non-hormonal anti-inflammatory drugs and corticohormons, glucosamine and chondroitin can reduce the need for them, as well as the need for analgesics. To improve the efficiency of treatment one should enrich their diet with vitamins A, C and salts of zinc, manganese, copper, magnesium, and selenium.
Arthron Complex Overdose:
Even in case of significant overdose the drug does not display toxicity.
